What are Adsense Auto Ads?

Google Adsense has released a new feature called Adsense Auto Ads, which eases the process of inserting Ad units on your blog posts and pages. It uses Machine Learning and automatically inserts appropriate Ads at appropriate places to maximize your earnings and CTR.

Earlier, one had to create separate Ad units for different places on the website. Now, this hectic process has been dedicated. Google has imbibed Machine Learning into Adsense in the name of Auto Ads.

Benefits of using Adsense Auto Ads

It simplifies the monetization process. You just have to copy a code snippet (aka ads placement codes) into your ‘head’ tag or ‘body’ tag (only if you don’t have access to your ‘head’ section). Google will do rest of the work.

You don’t have to worry about policy violation thereafter concerning Ad placement no more.

Truth be told, It will tremendously improve the Click-through Rate. It will increase Google Adsense income.

It’s located here: Adsense Menu -> My ads -> Content -> Auto Ads

First, read the right way to customize a plugin then proceed or skip to the next method.

Navigate to ‘html-start.php’ file through FTP/SFTP inside AMP Plugin folder like the way it is shown in this image. Though you can implement this using Headers and Footers WordPress Plugin, it’s better to add it manually as I’ve seen cases where it doesn’t work properly in case of the plugin.

Here we will use hooks, header action hook as amp_post_template_head & footer action hook as amp_post_template_footer. Make sure you use a child theme.

Replace //Your Header code with AMP Ad’s Header Code & //Your Footer code with AMP Ad’s Footer Code in the code below

Add this snippet below to your theme’s functions.php file

function wroffle_amp_my_custom_footer($amp_template) {
